The Cub Scout Academics and Sports Program is a supplementary enrichment program that complements the existing Cub Scout program. The Academics subjects and Sports activities permit boys to learn new techniques, increase scholarship skills, advance sportsmanship and to have fun.
The program is intended for Scouts of all ages from Tiger Cubs through Webelos. The activities can be done together in the Den, Pack or Family units. Boys participating in the program will be recognized for enjoying teamwork, developing physical fitness, and discovering and building new talents.
Activities are divided into two general categories: Academics and Sports. Each category has several specific skills or activities which Scouts may select from. The Academics and Sports program both encourage a boy to do his best, however the later has less to do with winning and is more about learning skills and the promotion of good sportsmanship.
Awarded belt loops should be worn on the Cub Scout belt. Awarded pins are to be worn on the Academics and Sports Program Letter Emblem which will be worn on the on their red patch a.k.a. "brag" vest or on the scouts Brag Blanket.
